Happy June my friends!

We made it halfway through the year and it’s been a slog – at least for me. I’m deeply unsettled by so many things that are happening in the world right now.

To keep me from crumbling into the great depressive void – I’ve been distracting myself with some good old fashioned pop culture like Everything Everywhere All At Once, Hacks, Our Flag Means Death, Switched on Pop, Kendrick Lamar’s Mr Morale & The Big Steppers, Las Culturistas, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, Harry’s House, and the Evolving Faith Podcast.

We’ve also been enjoying some garden time – we’ve been growing a few kinds of tomatoes, peppers, sunflowers, and a peanut plant!

I’m trying to remain hopeful these days but truthfully struggling to do so. I’m finding myself zoning out more than digging in or sitting with feelings – so my summer goal is to be more present wherever I’m at.

I hope that this summer you let yourself take breaks from the news when you need to – and to be present in the places you inhabit and tune in to the people who give you peace.
