Sober in Vegas: Sober-Friendly Strip Tips #11, What and Where to Drink When You’re Not Drinking

Hey All!

I’ve been working to compile a list of refreshing non-alcoholic beverages along The Strip, including grab-n-go, casual dining, and upscale restaurants.

People reach out to me from all walks of life asking about visiting Vegas when they’re not drinking.

Sometimes they’re sober, but sometimes they’re not.

Sometimes they just don’t want to drink if they’re here for business, sometimes they’re on a diet, sometimes they’re sick, sometimes they’re pregnant, and sometimes they just are on a break from drinking.

A note: Vegas is always changing.  I’ve tried to be as accurate as possible, but what’s available today may not be around tomorrow–so if you come across other great options please put them in the comments! I am sure at some point I’ll need to run a 2.0 version of this article. 😉

This guide will take you from the North End of The Strip down to the South End–hope you enjoy!

SLS: Fever Tree Ginger Beer on the rocks at Umami Burger

  1. Great list! If you need a break from Strip festivities, not far the Boulevard is Gäbi Coffee & Bakery
5808 Spring Mountain RD. STE 104, Las Vegas, NV 89146. Sober friendly and worth the jaunt.

  2. Thank you for the tips. On a recent trip w my kiddo I was determined to eat at a couple of places where I wondered if not drinking was going to feel like a bummer. All went well, so I thought I’d mention them here (though the scene at both these spots certainly could be triggering for someone in recovery, which is not my situation).

The Yardbird staff at the Venetian didn’t bat an eye and served up a tasty strawberry fauxjito when I asked for something interesting and not too sweet with no booze. My daughter got a kicky ginger ale that with some lime and mint would have made a great NA mule.

The server at Sake Rok at The Park seemed a little stymied by the same request, but the bar pulled off a fruity, tart concoction nicely. Excellent food too, BTW. I’d go back for the Brussels sprouts alone.

I wouldn’t have known about The Park w/o your write-up on this blog, but it turned out to be one of our favorite spots—relaxed, not crowded, with thoughtful (native!) landscaping, yard games, ample outdoor seating, and plenty of delicious options for casual dining. (Bruxie’s mushroom and sun-dried tomato sandwich was a vegetarian dream. The drink vibe there is very understated, too.) The whole experience was refreshing, even wholesome. Thanks for steering us here!

    1. this is SUCH AMAZING INFORMATION! Thank you so so much for your comment here! Isn’t it funny how much things can vary from restaurant to restaurant?! I am also so glad that you enjoyed The Park…it’s one of my favorite places too. The fact that there is an outdoor, calm (unless it’s after a concert or game!) and beautiful outdoor space to enjoy on the Strip is just amazing. I am so happy to hear your trip was fun! 🙂 And thank you so much for your thoughtful comments here! ❤
